The Company

LiR - Galeria de Arte is a fascinating art gallery. Housed in a working co-op winery, the space is large with an industrial, urban vibe more common to big cities than small towns in the Algarve. The gallery showcases a range of both local, national and international artists.
Located in the Adega de Lagoa winery, which still produces local wines from several Algarve vineyards, LiR is not only an interesting gallery, it is also a superb events venue. The gallery’s exhibition centre is perched above the bottling and processing part of the co-op, its runways and corridors giving a view of the action below, making for a very unique ambiance. There is a mix of sculptures, paintings and ceramics in spacious displays and excellent lighting . Against the dark, industrial background, the art seems to float in space and a visit to the gallery is like stepping into a cocoon of visual delight. There is seating scattered around the gallery, conducive to relaxation and contemplation. Regular visits to the gallery are a good idea – there are always new pieces and installations to enjoy.

LiR - Galeria de Arte has ongoing exhibitions from a range of artists (check the Events tab for current and upcoming events) and the pieces on display are for sale. There are large installations as well as smaller, take-home pieces. The gallery arrange shipping and delivery.

As an events venue, LiR is quite different. The artwork mixed with the industrial surroundings of the co-op, which has a long tradition in the region, together create a very distinct ambiance, as unique as the art itself. The space itself is very large and there is a stage and seating area for live and streamed performances and presentations.

By the entrance to the main gallery area, there is a welcoming Lounge Bar area with plenty of comfy sofas to relax in, as well as a sunny terrace where you can enjoy a cold drink. As with everything about LiR, you don’t find run of the mill drinks at the cafe. You can enjoy Teapigs teas, Caffe Praego or Surf Brewing craft beer here, brands showing sustainability, charity and flavor can go together.

Entrance to the gallery is through the wine co-op shop. While entry is free, donations are welcome.

LiR - Galeria de Arte is open Monday to Saturday, 10h to 18h.

Send an e-mail to info@galerialadyinred.com and let us know you’re interested in exhibit with us. On the e-mail please attach your biography and photos of your available artworks.

Approval
We will review your enquiry and if you meet our exhibiting criteria we’ll invite you to complete an application, giving us details about the artworks. Our Terms and Conditions will be sent to you and should be signed and returned to us. We’ll get in touch to give you more details and discuss your application.

Exhibit
If you’re approved, our team will help you arrange a date to deliver and will prepare your artworks exhibition.

Who is responsible for delivering my artwork?
We work with a range of couriers, selecting the service best suited to your artwork and shipping destination. All shipped items have insurance.
Once you've placed your order, and paid for the item and shipping, the gallery has 5 business days to dispatch it. Our customer service team is always on hand to help – please don’t hesitate to contact them if you need any advice.

How long does delivery take?
Delivery time depends on the shipping destination. Once the gallery has the tracking code, it will be sent to the client.

Do I have to pay shipping costs? You are responsible for these costs, which are calculated based on the shipping destination as well as the weight and size of your artwork. Our team will send you all the details to be paid with the item.

Customs duties
Once your order reaches its destination, it may be subject to VAT or other custom fees. These charges are outside of our control and you will be responsible for paying them. Please contact the customs officials in your country for more information about these charges. There are no custom duties on artworks shipped within European Union.

Unfortunately accidents can happen, so if an artwork is damaged upon arrival at your specified delivery address, please fill the damage form with the delivery courier and submit an image of the damage as proof to allow us to investigate further.
