Born in Lisbon in 1995, Mtáfora has always been fascinated by colors and geometric shapes and, in a more figurative or abstract way, he always tried to provoke a reaction in the subject through his pieces. His works are based on a vast universe of colors and textures, essentially using techniques of gluing paper and painting on multiple surfaces or digital illustration. With influences from Basquiat, Miró, Keith Haring or Picasso, he has been developing a childlike and carefree style, with strong colors, which he called “metaphorism”. He has also been spreading part of his works on the street, in poster or “stickers” format, with the aim of changing and bringing art to the urban landscape.
