Josete Fernandes was born in France and, at the age of four, returned with her family to her roots in Aldeia de Cedães, Mirandela. Her artistic journey began at an early age, leading her to pursue studies in the arts. She attended Escola Soares dos Reis in Porto during secondary school and later continued her education by enrolling in the Painting Course at the Escola Superior Artística do Porto. Josete went on to obtain a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Arts of Coimbra. She holds a master’s degree in Teaching Visual Arts from ULHT in Lisbon and has pursued specializations in various artistic fields, including screen printing, engraving, lithography, analog photography, and stained glass. Additionally, she completed a three-year course in “Goldsmithing and Large Silverware” at CINDOR in Gondomar.
