Born in Lisbon in 1995, Mtáfora has always been fascinated by colors and geometric shapes. Whether in a figurative or abstract form, his work consistently aims to evoke a reaction from the viewer. His art is rooted in a vibrant universe of colors and textures, primarily employing techniques such as paper collage and painting on various surfaces, as well as digital illustration. Influenced by artists like Basquiat, Miró, Keith Haring, and Picasso, he has developed a playful and uninhibited style, characterized by bold colors, which he refers to as “metaphorism.” In addition to his studio work, Mtáfora brings his art into the urban environment by distributing his pieces in the form of posters and stickers, with the goal of transforming and enriching the cityscape.
