Paulo Gago

Portugal

Paulo Gago, born in Lisbon, Portugal, is a self-taught artist who discovered his passion for drawing and painting at an early age. From the very beginning of his artistic journey, he has been deeply inspired by the city he calls home. His exhibition career began in 2016 in Olhão, and by 2017, his work was showcased in various municipal institutions, including the Pechão Parish Council and the Municipal Gallery of the "José Mariano Gago" Municipal Library. In the same year, he was invited by Antonia Williams to join the "Olhão Artists Initiative," through which he has participated in several group exhibitions, such as *Interiors*, presented at the “Artistic House” by Alexandra Gonin and at the cultural association “Re-Creativa 14.” In 2018, Paulo Gago was invited by the City Council to depict the Municipal Archives through his paintings, further cementing his role in the local art scene. His artistic endeavors have also extended beyond Olhão, as he took part in the International Symposium of Contemporary Art in Guarda, collaborating with the Algarve’s artistic community.
