Thea is a Ukrainian former actress who, during the pandemic, sought new ways to realize her creative potential. She found her inspiration in the natural world that surrounded her, particularly in Portugal, whose landscapes and atmosphere encouraged her to explore a unique artistic path. Her artworks are created exclusively from natural materials such as dried leaves, flowers, roots, thorns, and other botanical elements. Thea works in the traditional Japanese art form known as Oshibana, an ancient technique often referred to as the “art of the samurai.” Practicing Oshibana requires patience, perseverance, concentration, and a keen ability to recognize beauty in the ordinary and the overlooked. Through this delicate and meticulous process, Thea transforms nature’s fragments into evocative and distinctive works of art that celebrate both the simplicity and richness of the natural world.
